Elisa Makadi offers supervision to new and early-career registered psychotherapists who want to focus on process, relational work, and attachment-based therapeutic modalities.
Supervision with Elisa
Starting out as a psychotherapist means learning what parts of yourself come up in this work and how to balance your parts with modalities, client concerns, and about a million other things at once. It’s a lot to manage.
Our work is hard enough; you deserve support and guidance that is gentle and encouraging. I think I’m doing my job correctly as a supervisor if we’re holding you with care, considering different perspectives, and focusing on what you’re doing right (because I’m so certain you’re doing a lot of good, just by being you in the therapy room with your clients). Supervision is minimally structured, giving you a chance to focus on and receive what you need. I often encourage reflection, alternate perspectives, and ask open-ended questions. I won’t be telling you what to do, I’ll be helping you feel empowered to make those judgment calls for yourself (and provide insight when needed).
Supervision of Interns
Elisa offers supervision for students who are completing their Master of Arts or Master of Education in Counselling Psychology. She works with colleague Bianca Maschi to co-supervise interns, providing complementary approaches that we find adds value to the learning experience of being an intern. If you are interested in an upcoming internship position, please contact Elisa directly by email.
